About the role
RYVAN Recruiting is searching for a Finance Implementation Specialist for a well-established ministry partner organization that serves Christian churches and faith-based nonprofits. The organization acts as a trusted business partner, managing financial infrastructure so ministry leaders can focus on their mission.
The Finance Implementation Specialist guides clients through the adoption of the organization’s financial technology stack, including QuickBooks Online, Ramp, Bill.com, Planning Center, and Bloomerang. This relationship-driven role combines hands-on financial system implementation with ongoing accounting support for ministry clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead financial discovery and onboarding for new clients, developing tailored implementation plans and serving as the primary point of contact.
- Configure and implement the core financial technology stack: QuickBooks Online (general ledger, chart of accounts, fund accounting), Ramp (corporate cards and expenses), Bill.com (AP workflows), and Planning Center/Bloomerang (donation management).
- Manage data migration, system testing, and validation to ensure accurate setup and continuity.
- Build client rapport and provide customized training and documentation on all platforms.
- Execute monthly accounting tasks including AP/AR, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, and financial reporting.
- Support year-end processes such as 1099s, donor statements, budgeting, and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with the Client Services team for smooth handoff after implementation.
- Resolve client issues with strong problem-solving and a service-oriented approach.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- Intermediate to advanced QuickBooks Online proficiency, including chart of accounts setup, Classes configuration, and bank feeds.
- Hands-on experience with financial data migrations and chart of accounts management.
- Proven client-facing skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance audiences.
- Strong organizational and project management skills for handling multiple concurrent implementations.
- Authorization to work in the United States and residency in one of the following states: CO, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, KY, MA, MD, MO, NC, NJ, PA, SC, TN, TX, or VA.
- Prior financial experience in a church or nonprofit setting, including fund accounting and donor management.
- Familiarity with Ramp, Bill.com, Planning Center Giving, Bloomerang, or similar tools (e.g., Gusto, Expensify, GiveButter).
- Alignment with the mission to serve Christian churches and faith-based nonprofits, with a passion for supporting local ministry.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace.
