RYVAN Recruiting is partnering with a leading specialty contractor to identify an experienced Superintendent to oversee field operations for commercial construction projects throughout Southwest Florida.** This position is responsible for directing daily jobsite activities, coordinating installation crews and subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring the successful execution of architectural metals, miscellaneous metals, and custom fabrication projects from mobilization through completion.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction leader with experience managing field operations, coordinating multiple trades, and delivering high-quality projects while maintaining strong relationships with clients, general contractors, and project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all field operations for commercial construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate and supervise installation crews, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to maintain project schedules and productivity goals.
  • Lead daily jobsite activities including planning, workforce management, material coordination, equipment scheduling, and logistics.
  • Review construction documents, shop drawings, specifications, and installation details to ensure proper execution of work.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality standards, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Detailing, Fabrication, and Production teams to ensure materials and resources are available to support project milestones.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address scheduling conflicts, field conditions, and installation challenges that may impact delivery timelines.
  • Maintain clear communication with general contractors, owners, inspectors, and other project stakeholders throughout all phases of construction.
  • Lead and participate in project meetings, safety meetings, and coordination meetings as required.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety programs, and all jobsite-specific safety requirements.
  • Manage site documentation including daily reports, manpower tracking, progress updates, punch lists, incident reports, and quality control records.
  • Coordinate delivery, storage, handling, and protection of materials on-site to minimize damage and maintain productivity.
  • Identify and resolve field issues, design conflicts, and constructability concerns while collaborating with internal teams and project stakeholders.
  • Oversee project closeout activities, including punch list completion, final inspections, and turnover requirements.
  • Promote a positive jobsite culture focused on teamwork, accountability, quality workmanship, and safety excellence.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Superintendent, Field Supervisor, General Superintendent, or Foreman experience within commercial construction.
  • Experience managing projects involving architectural metals, miscellaneous metals, structural steel, railings, stairs, canopies, fencing, gates, ornamental metals, or related specialty construction trades is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, scheduling, sequencing, safety regulations, and quality control practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Proven experience coordinating multiple subcontractors, field crews, and project stakeholders on active construction sites.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA standards and jobsite safety requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software platforms is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout Southwest Florida as required.
