RYVAN Recruiting is partnering with a leading specialty contractor to identify an experienced Project Manager to oversee architectural metals, miscellaneous metals, and custom fabrication projects throughout the Florida market. This role is responsible for managing projects from contract award through closeout while ensuring profitability, schedule adherence, quality execution, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex commercial construction projects involving fabricated metal systems and coordinating efforts between engineering, fabrication, installation, and field operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple commercial construction projects simultaneously from award through final completion and closeout.
  • Develop and execute project strategies that maintain profitability, protect project margins, mitigate risk, and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Review contracts, project specifications, bid documents, architectural drawings, and scope requirements to establish project execution plans.
  • Coordinate with engineering, detailing, fabrication, procurement, logistics, and field installation teams to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, labor utilization, material costs, freight expenses, subcontractor performance, and overall project financial health.
  • Track project costs and proactively identify budget variances, providing recommendations and escalation when necessary.
  • Prepare, negotiate, submit, and track change orders, requests for information (RFIs), submittals, and project documentation.
  • Lead project kickoff meetings and maintain ongoing communication with clients, general contractors, architects, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage procurement activities, including material releases, long-lead items, vendor coordination, and delivery schedules.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules while ensuring adherence to contractual deadlines and project milestones.
  • Conduct site visits as required to monitor progress, resolve field issues, verify installation quality, and maintain customer relationships.
  • Coordinate installation activities and subcontractor schedules to ensure efficient field execution and compliance with project requirements.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with contract documents, industry standards, quality expectations, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate project reporting, forecasting, and project tracking logs for executive leadership and operations teams.
  • Support project closeout activities, including punch list completion, final documentation, warranty requirements, and financial reconciliation.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience within commercial construction, specialty contracting, miscellaneous metals, structural steel, architectural metals, building envelope systems, or related trades.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, construction contracts, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Experience managing projects involving fabricated metal products such as railings, stairs, canopies, pergolas, louvers, ornamental metals, fencing, gates, structural steel, or similar systems is highly preferred.
  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, engineering documents, and construction specifications Proven experience coordinating with fabrication facilities, engineering teams, field crews, and subcontractors.
  • Strong knowledge of change order management, project documentation, RFIs, submittals, and contract administration.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software platforms.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
